Trenchless crossings with minimal surface impact
Microtunnelling is a trenchless method for installing pipelines below ground level without long open trenches. A remotely controlled boring machine excavates the soil while pipes are jacked in between a launch and a reception shaft.
The technology is particularly suitable for dense urban areas and crossings under roads, railways and rivers, where disruption must be kept to a minimum and accuracy is critical.
